For a fast and fluid workflow between Nikon D500 XDCAM footage and FCP X, sometimes you need to encode Nikon D500 XDCAM video files to ProRes codec before you start editing. You need to install additional software to import Nikon D500 XDCAM media into Final Cut Pro X. If you use Final Cut Pro X version 10.2 or later, you need to verify that Pro Video Formats is installed on your system before importing Nikon D500 XDCAM media. Step 3: Click "Convert" to start Nikon D500 XDCAM files to ProRes conversion. As soon as the conversion is complete, click "Open Folder" to get the generated Apple ProRes files for editing in FCP X with optimum performance.
