What's the best workflow between Canon EOS M3 XDCAM footage and Final Cut Pro X? If you can't work with Canon EOS M3 XDCAM media in FCP X properly, you may wish to read this tutorial. It displays an easy way to convert Canon EOS M3 XDCAM .mxf clips to ProRes 422 codec for use in Final Cut Pro X with optimum performance.
You need to install additional software to import Canon EOS M3 XDCAM media into Final Cut Pro X. If you use Final Cut Pro X version 10.2 or later, you need to verify that Pro Video Formats is installed on your system before importing Canon EOS M3 XDCAM media. If you use Final Cut Pro X version 10.1.4 or earlier, you need to verify that Pro Video Formats and the Sony XAVC/XDCAM Plug-in for Apple are installed on your system. If this doesn't work, we would recommend transcoding Canon EOS M3 XDCAM footage to FCP X preferred ProRes codec before editing.
