Working with Fujifilm X100F XDCAM footage in FCP X

What's the best workflow between Fujifilm X100F XDCAM footage and Final Cut Pro X? If you can't work with Fujifilm X100F XDCAM media in FCP X properly, you may wish to read this tutorial. It displays an easy way to convert Fujifilm X100F XDCAM .mxf clips to ProRes 422 codec for use in Final Cut Pro X with optimum performance.


You need to install additional software to import Fujifilm X100F XDCAM media into Final Cut Pro X. If you use Final Cut Pro X version 10.2 or later, you need to verify that Pro Video Formats is installed on your system before importing Fujifilm X100F XDCAM media. If you use Final Cut Pro X version 10.1.4 or earlier, you need to verify that Pro Video Formats and the Sony XAVC/XDCAM Plug-in for Apple are installed on your system. How to transcode Fujifilm X100F XDCAM footage to ProRes for FCP X editing?
To transcode Fujifilm X100F XDCAM MXF video files to ProRes, do as below: Step 1: Click "Add File" to load Fujifilm X100F XDCAM MXF files that you want to convert into this program.

Step 2: Click "Profile" to select "Final Cut Pro" > "Apple ProRes 422 (*.mov)" as output format. Apple ProRes is FCP X's favorite editing codec, which FCP X will recognize and handle well.

Tips: If necessary, you can click "Settings" button to modify video and audio parameters like encoder, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, aspect ratio, sample rate, and audio channels. You can also "enable 3D Settings" to add 3D effect to your source media.

Step 3: Click "Convert" to start Fujifilm X100F XDCAM files to ProRes conversion. As soon as the conversion is complete, click "Open Folder" to get the generated Apple ProRes files for editing in FCP X with optimum performance.
